College Football Coaching Changes: 2008
Arkansas:
Houston Nutt was fired, Bobby Petrino takes over.
Baylor:
Guy Morris is out, Art Briles (former Houston coach) takes over.
Colorado State: Sonny Lubick is out, Steve Fairchild is the new coach.
Duke:
Ted Roof is out, David Cutcliff is the new coach. He was Tennessee's offensive coordinator.
Georgia Tech: Chan Gailey has been replaced by Paul Johnson, the former Navy coach.
Hawaii: June Jones left, so Greg McMackin takes over.
Houston:
Art Briles left for Baylor, so Kevin Sumlin is the new head coach.
Michigan: Lloyd Carr retired and Rich Rodriguez (West Virginia) comes aboard.
Mississippi:
Ed Oregeron is gone, Houston Nutt (Arkansas) is the new head coach.
Navy:
Paul Johnson moved on, so assistant Ken Niumatalolo has been promoted to head coach.
Nebraska: Bill Callahan is gone, Bo Pelini takes over. He was the DC at LSU.
Northern Illinois: Joe Novak has been replaced by Jerry Kill.
S.M.U: Phil Bennett has been replaced by pass-happy June Jones (Hawaii).
Southern Miss: 14-year coach Jeff Bower stepped down, replaced by Larry Fedora.
Texas A&M: Dennis Franchione is gone, former Green Bay Packers coach Mike Sherman takes over.
U.C.L.A: Karl Dorrell has been replaced by Rich Neuiheisel, the former Washington coach. He was OC of the Baltimore Ravens last year.
Washington St: Bill Doba is gone, Paul Wulff is the new coach.
West Virginia: Rich Rodriguez left for Michigan, so Bill Stewart steps in.
