*Orioles seeking four-game sweep of Royals*
-------------------------------------------
Baltimore (19-18) at Kansas City (15-21) 2:10 pm EDT
KANSAS CITY, Missouri (Ticker) -- The Baltimore Orioles will look
to complete a four-game sweep of the Kansas City Royals on
Sunday.
Kevin Millar's three-run homer boosted the Orioles to a 6-5
victory over the Royals in a game delayed almost two hours by
rain Saturday night.
Millar collected three hits for his second straight multi-hit
game. It was the first time Millar has had multiple hits in
consecutive games this season as he escaped from a 15-game slide
during which he batted .167.
The Orioles have won three straight on the heels of a five-game
losing streak, and have beaten the Royals 12 times in a row -
their longest streak against any opponent since taking 12
straight from the Minnesota Twins from July 1980 to May 1981.
Baltimore will send Brian Burres (3-3, 3.19 ERA) to the mound.
The lefthander gave up four runs - three earned - and eight hits
over 5 1/3 innings during Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Oakland
Athletics.
While Burres is trying to avoid his third straight loss, Kansas
City starter Brian Bannister (3-4, 4.46) will hope to stop a
four-game skid.
Bannister started the season with a 3-0 record and 0.86 ERA, but
has failed to win since. The righthander was roughed up for
five runs and 13 hits over 6 2/3 frames in Tuesday's 5-3 setback
to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
