-----------------------------------------------
Toronto (17-19) at Cleveland (16-18) 7:05 pm EDT
CLEVELAND (Ticker) - Roy Halladay looks to get the Toronto Blue
Jays off on the right foot in the opener of a 10-game road swing
against the Cleveland Indians on Friday.
Halladay (3-4, 3.00 ERA) was stellar in his last outing Sunday,
yielding three runs - one earned - and three hits in over 7 1/3
innings during a 4-3 victory over the Chicago White Sox.
The 30-year-old righthander owns an impressive 5-0 record with a
3.77 ERA through 10 career appearances - nine starts - against
the Indians. He is 1-0 with a 3.44 ERA over three career starts
at Progressive Field - formerly known as Jacobs Field.
Cleveland counters with C.C. Sabathia (1-5, 7.51), who continues
to struggle after earning his first American League Cy Young
Award in 2007.
Most recently, the hard-throwing righthander gave up four runs
and 10 hits over 6 1/3 frames during a 4-2 loss to the Kansas
City Royals on Saturday.
In nine career starts in the series, Sabathia is 6-3 with a 3.71
ERA. Cleveland has won 12 of the last 13 games with Toronto.
