*Rollins rejoins Phillies against Giants*
-----------------------------------------
Philadelphia (20-16) at San Francisco (14-21) 10:15 pm EDT
SAN FRANCISCO (Ticker) - Jimmy Rollins is close to returning,
but thanks to Eric Bruntlett, the Philadelphia Phillies hardly
noticed their shortstop was missing.
Rollins rejoins the Phillies on Friday when they open a
three-game series against the San Francisco Giants.
The reigning National League MVP, Rollins has been on the
disabled list since April 20 with a sprained left ankle.
The Phillies haven't disclosed when the 29-year-old will be
activated but he will be with the team in San Francisco.
Despite suffering an 8-3 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks on
Thursday, Bruntlett logged two hits, finishing the four-game
series with a .388 average (7-for-18) and eight RBI.
Bruntlett has helped Philadelphia to a 12-6 record without
Rollins in the lineup.
Phillies starter Cole Hamels (3-3, 3.10 ERA) allowed just four
runs and seven hits in six innings, striking out five but did
not factor in the decision during Sunday's 6-5 win against the
Giants.
Patrick Misch (0-0, 5.40) tries to help San Francisco end a
four-game losing streak when he toes the rubber on Friday.
Misch is making his second start after being called-up from
Class AAA Fresno on April 27. He surrendered four runs and five
hits in four innings but did not factor in the decision during
Friday's 6-5 loss to the Phillies.
