"Pacman" Jones to try to return to NFL on Tuesday

IRVING, Texas (Ticker) - Adam "Pacman" Jones is ready to get his
football career going again.
Jones will apply for reinstatement to the NFL on Tuesday,
according to a report by the Forth Worth Star-Telegram's web
site on Saturday.
Suspended for the entire 2007 season due to off-field issues,
the Tennessee Titans cornerback will seek his return, according
to agent, Manny Arora.
Arora confirmed to the Star-Telegram on Friday that Jones will
begin the process early next week and the agent is confident
that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will reinstate the
cornerback before the start of training camp in July.
The agent also told that paper that he was disappointed that the
rumored deal between the Titans and the Dallas Cowboys was not
completed at the NFL owners' meeting last week, and that if
there is going to be a deal it would need to be done soon.
"Just from a logical perspective, I remain optimistic that next
week will be the week," Arora told the Star-Telegram. "That's
the last week before the draft, and most teams are going to want
to be set."
Arora also spoke to the paper about any potential deal that
Jones might get when he would be reinstated, stating that it
would probable be a league-minimum deal loaded with incentives.
It would also only be for a year or two as Jones attempts to
build up a good reputation.
"The risk is minimal because he knows this is his last shot,"
Arora told the paper. "You have a motivated player, and a team
paying rock-bottom prices. Whether (the Titans get) a fourth or
a fifth-round pick, what's the difference?"
