STATE COLLEGE, Pennsylvania (Ticker) -- Suspended Penn State
wide receiver Christopher Bell was dismissed from the program on
Tuesday after allegedly threatening a teammate with a knife,
the school announced.
According to the Centre Daily News, Bell, 21, spent Monday night
in jail after threatening a teammate inside a dining hall and
had to be restrained by members of the coaching staff.
Penn State released a one-sentence statement that said, "Chris
Bell, who had been previously suspended from team activities, is
permanently removed from the team and will not be reconsidered
to be a part of the team in the future."
Bell was suspended from the team after his name was mentioned in
connection with an assault in October.
The Centre Daily News reported that Bell was restrained by
coaches Michael McQueary, Richard Anderson and Kermit Buggs, who
were able to take the knife from him.
